LONG WHITE CLOUD

The Māori word for New Zealand, Aotearoa, translates to "Land of the Long White Cloud" and embodies the profound connection that Māori have with the land and the natural elements that shape it. Clouds, in particular, hold significant cultural and spiritual significance to Māori, representing the breath of their ancestors and the shifting moods of the sky. Through my lens, I aim to capture the majesty and power of the Aotearoa landscape. This collection of photographs seeks to capture the essence of clouds and showcase the beauty of the land, as well as the unique cultural heritage of Māori, who value clouds and believe in the interconnectedness of all living things and the symbiotic relationship between land and people. The ever-changing moods of clouds serve as a reminder that life is constantly evolving, and it is crucial to strive for harmony with the natural world to ensure its survival for generations to come.
